What We Do

The Little Red River Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Since 2013, we have been working with governmental agencies, private, and public partners to maintain and improve the Little Red River.

Our Mission

To preserve, protect, and enhance the Little Red River’s natural beauty and resources, while improving the overall fishing experience so that it earns a reputation as one of the top ten fisheries in the United States.

The Little Red is not only a recreational destination, but also an economic engine for the region creating jobs and bringing tourism tax dollars to local communities.

We represent those who love the river and work with local stakeholders, homeowners, and river users to encourage enhancement and preservation.

Our Goals

  • Create water flows, habitat enhancement, and the enforcement needed to achieve our mission and to allow the trout to thrive

  • Work in partnership with stakeholders and advocates to accomplish our mission

  • Enhance the economic vitality of the surrounding communities by making the river one of America’s best trout and fly fishing waters

  • Protect the cleanliness and quality of water, river banks, and natural habitat

  • Encourage conservation practices in the river, so as to enhance the growth and overall quality of life for the fish and their food sources

  • Support development of trout species that will sustain fishing on the river for generations to come
